Wijet is founded at HEC by Corentin Denœud and Alexandre Azoulay, joined by two former military pilots. More than 85 investors take part in the initial funding round.

Exclusive entry into service of the Cessna Citation Mustang (4 seats), which remains the sole aircraft in the fleet until 2018.

Partnerships
Acquisition of the CoJetage project (marketing of Wijet’s empty-leg flights) from GoProd, a company founded by Adrien Touati; start of a partnership with Air France for the transfer of First Class passengers on long-haul flights.

Restructuring
Acquisition of the airline Blink; Wijet’s air operator’s licence lapses around the same period. Patrick Hersent replaces Corentin Denœud as head of the company.
2018
Difficulties
The Blink integration fails and its operations cease; Patrick Hersent leaves the company. Wijet orders 16 Honda HA-420 HondaJet aircraft (USD 78M) and shifts its business model: it keeps ownership of its aircraft but hands flight operations to Flying Group BV (Luxembourg). Wijet voluntarily enters French court-supervised safeguard proceedings on 8 August 2018.
2019
Wind-down
The first HondaJet is delivered on 20 March 2019. Wijet is placed into compulsory liquidation on 16 December 2019.

Flat-rate pricing
Wijet sold its flights on the basis of a flat rate fixed per flight hour, regardless of the number of passengers on board. Airport taxes, time of year, and flight conditions were not reflected in the quoted price, an approach positioned as a break from conventional business-aviation pricing, often likened to how a taxi fare works. From 2018, Wijet stopped operating its own flights as a full airline; it retained ownership of its aircraft, while flight operations were handed to Flying Group BV, a European private-aviation operator based in Luxembourg.
